Rut may keep to himself but he is a very creative creature. To both the HUSH and the E-erts he represents Mother Earth and is sacred. Rut is the HUSH calender. There are thirteen segments on the back of the turtle. They represent the thirteen moons that make up a lunar year. There are also 28 smaller segments around the lower edge of the shell, which represent the 28 days between new moons. A symbol of a long and meaningful life.
